Who would have thought that a first day of school could be so draining? It wasn't just the getting up early for the first time in ages or the fact he was thrown in the dumpster again the moment he got in. No, it was the sheer boredom he felt after being stuck in classes all day and he was in desperate need of sugar and social stimulation. If only glee club had been on that day.
With a sigh he leaned back in the booth seat, sipping at his strawberry milkshake as he looked around the establishment with a bored gaze.
Maybe he would only be getting his sugar fix.
It was a shame really...usually The Lima Freeze was packed with teenagers after school.

Michelle Fellock threw open the door to the Lima Freeze. She'd had the worst first day a girl could have. Not only had she'd lost nearly half of her ability to memorize during summer vacation, her teachers had lectured her because of her inability to answer the questions she'd learned the answers to last year. The whole class had laughed at her. She'd never felt so humiliated in all her life!
She ordered her usual Italian vanilla ice cream from the clerk, paid for it, then looked around.
The Lima Freeze was practically empty except for a boy around her age sitting in one of the booths. Where the hell was everybody?
She eventually decided he was interesting enough to talk to, so she went over to him.
"This seat taken?" she asked, taking a spoonful of ice cream.

Shelby pushed the door to the Freeze open and darted for the counter in great need of a sugar fix and a caffeinated beverage. After paying for her triple shot Espresso and mandarin ice cream, she turned to see the place empty but for two teens one che recognized but couldn't tell you his name if she was asked.
She thought for a minute weather going over to sit with them would be inappropriate or embarrassing then dismissed it and walked over to them anyway, "People, yes i need normal people to talk too. Do you know how much you Cheerio coach talks about Wil- urgh Mr Schuester? She has an unhealthy obsession with his hair..., uh anyway how are you guys and umm i can't remember your name sorry" she said smiling at Kurt.

Looking up from from his milkshake, he spotted a pretty blonde girl coming over to him with an ice cream. She was admittedly well dressed and as she asked to sit next to him, he couldn't think of a reason to say no. She didn't look like she was going to cause him trouble.
"No, it's free," he told her, waving his hand slightly at the seat before he sipped at his milkshake again.
Hmmm it was good, it was very fattening though so he was glad he would work it off at cheerio's practice the next day. Ah the wonders of cheerleading.
Kurt studied the girl carefully, deciding he had seen her before. Hmmm, he'd probably seen her around school...oh! She was in his World History, nearly everyone in the class had laughed at her when she was lectured. He grimaced slightly at the thought, glad not to be in her shoes then. Though she was wearing quite nice shoes. "I'm Kurt by the way. We have World History together," he told her, deciding it would be polite to introduce himself as he held out a hand.
That was when Miss Corcoran walked over...ah yes was teaching at their school for now wasn't she? That was interesting really...who looked after Beth during the day? Weren't you supposed to stay with babies when they're young? Not cart them off to somebody else?
He raised an eyebrow at her, "Miss Sylvester has a rather obsessive personality it seems and it's Kurt."

The brunette took a seat with the two teens, "So schools hectic, right? There really shouldn't be that many students in a school that size, but what can you do.", she said shrugging. Shelby yawned then took three loud gulps of her coffee, "Babies aren't quiet creatures..." she said trailing off in thought.
(short yes, but i'm actualy yawning in real life xD)

Michelle smiled approvingly at Kurt and sat in front of him. Once she saw him up close, she saw that he was rather attractive. As soon as he mentioned his name, she took an instant liking to him. He was the only person in the class who hadn't laughed at her today. She'd also seen him perform, and he was quite the singer.
She took his hand. "I've seen you before. My name is Michelle, but call me Violet. You're quite the singer."
Then she looked up at Miss Corcoran. "Normal people, huh? I'm as normal as you'll get. Name's Viiolet, if you care." She assumed that Shelby didn't, so she didn't give her real name. She couldn't be arsed to repeat the same thing twice anyways.
When Shelby mentioned babies, she grimaced. "I've had to take care of them. I'll never call them babies again, my word for them would be pet monsters."

Shelby smiled at the girl, "Well I'm not really normal, but what is normal and i do care about your name, it's just that i know Kurt but couldn't place his nam, but it's nice to meet you", she said offering her hand up to shake.
Hearing what 'Violet' said about babies made Shelby laugh, "Oh Beth's so sweet really she just never sleeps and she has a set of lungs on her, well like me i guess" she said laughing at the ironu, she had wanted Beth to have somerhing like her and now it was tormenting her.

Sam Evans entered the Lima Freeze feeling all very awkward. It's not like he wanted to be here, but his mother had told him if he never went out to socialize he'd never make friends. He didn't understand how going out to some random milkshake place would help him "make friends," but while she was a usually sweet and perky woman, he didn't want to get his mom on her bad side--now that is a frightening sight.
He studied the place, looking around for anyone he already knew, maybe that Finn guy, but no such luck. The place only seemed to contain one of WMHS's teachers, some blond girl, and that gay kid from AP Math.
So much for socializing, but, hey, he was already here. He decided to go ahead and order a chocolate milkshake and headed to sit in one of the booths, sipping it as he did so.

Michelle took the teacher's hand hesitantly. She wasn't used to seeing teachers in their casual state of mind. Usually they were serious or yelling. "The pleasure is all mine," she said with a reluctant smile.
"My statement still stands. The sound of crying babies... it irritates me." Michelle took a spoonful of ice cream.

Shelby shook Violet's hand and offered her a soft smile, "Doesn't the sound of a crying baby grate on everyone just a little, but you know it's worth it" she said thinking of beth in her giggly adorable mood, then laughing lightly.
She ate a scoop of her ice cream and swallowed it rather quickly still thinking about her daughter, "Arghh brain freeze, oh ow that hurts" she said cringing and clutching her head in one hand.

So Violet had heard him sing? She must have attended on of the glee club performances then as she certainly wasn't in the club. "Thanks."
He sat quietly sipping his drink as Miss Corcoran and Violet continued to speak about babies. They were cute he guessed but he didn't really want them himself. "Let's just hope Beth doesn't grow up like her father," he commented dryly with a small snort as he let his eyes wonder throughout the room again.
The door to the building opened and in entered the new blond guy he'd seen talking to Finn and in his AP Math class...ooooh, he really was cute. He found his eyes glued to the other male as he walked over to the counter and he debated going over to talk to him. What would he say though? He didn't really have any clue what the guy liked yet ugh.

Sam sighed at the lack of pizazz of the Lima Freeze. Maybe Lima wasn't as exciting as he thought--it might be a tad bigger then his old place in Tennesse, but overall it was still just another small, quiet, and boring town.
He kept sipping at his milkshake, slightly wishing he had gotten something more fancy. He looked back to where the others were and found that that guy--he couldn't remember his name from roll call, Kirk or something?--was staring at him. He shifted uncomfortably, focusing his gaze on a poster on the wall of a strawberry milkshake with a face and arms and legs, doing the disco.

Michelle really felt uncomfortable now. "Um, no... I hate kids." Just thinking of them, Michelle felt slightly angry. "I mean, they're so much darn work. And they wake you up every night. And don't even get me started on how they smell." She aggressively took another spoonful of ice cream.
Then she noticed Kurt staring intently at something. She followed his gaze. Or rather, someone. Michelle smiled. The boy really was cute. Why was everyone so cute this year? "Looking for someone, Kurt?"

Shelby raised her eyebrow, "Hey to me you're still a kid, but do i complain about how much teenagers whine and moan and bitch, no it's life. In order to get something good you must have some bad stuff first, it's like a relationship, but seriously are you planning on abstaining your whole life? Because i sure as hell wont", she said then taking a sip from her coffee.
